What is a Smokers Health Check?

At your Smokers Health Check we will carry out certain tests. We will ask you to complete a Smokers Questionnaire, this will be used to help us personalise the course to suit your specific smoking habits.

We will then take the following readings:

Expired carbon monoxide - this is the carbon monoxide gas present in expired breath due to smoking.

CarboxyHaemoglobin - this is the carbon monoxide in the blood stream.

Blood pressure and heart rate.

Smoking will affect all of the above readings. The good news is so does not smoking. Within half an hour of not smoking these readings will start to return to normal. You will be given a copy of all results along with explanatory literature.
